Strategy Guide

F.A.Q.
"So what exactly are strategies?"

Strategies, or strats for short, are the ultimate in user participation when it comes to writing results. Strats allow the user to interject themselves on how their character would act in the ring, out of the ring, or around the event all together.

"OK, I know what strats are. But what do I have to do to send one in?"

Following this FAQ, there will be a form you will have to fill out. Just fill out the form, submit it to us, and we'll try to insert them into the the results.

"TRY to insert them into the results? What do you mean by try?"

Unfortunately, we can't insert EVERYTHING you send us. There are numerous explanations why we can't though. Here are a few of the reasons:

a) TOO many people sent in strats, and we just can't include everything.

b) We don't necessarily agree with the strat you sent in and/or it interferes with something we had in mind for your character/angle.

c) It was sent in too late into the result writing process to include it.

d) Your strat collides with another's, and we chose the other's over yours because it fits more with the story.

"Are strats REALLY that useful that we should take the time out to write them?"

In our eyes, yes. It allows us to feel how you want your character perceived during the show. Besides, if you hand in a strat and we do decide to use it, it may help your rank in the weekly Power Rankings.

"So in all, what are the minimum and maximum requirements for sending in strats?"

Sending in strats are not required for the weekly show (Trauma) since those results are done in summarized format anyway, but you can still send them in if you want, because something might catch our eye and we may include it in the results anyway. Like for Trauma, strats aren't required for Pay-Per-Views either, though they are much appreciated. You may begin sending in strats as soon as the card is posted and as late as two days before the deadline is posted. If you send in a strat while the results are being written, then the chances of them getting in are slim. Also, you are allowed to send in one strat per event. If things get changed during the week, you may send an updated version of your strat if you wish. If we receive more than one strat from a person who hadn't had their match changed and wasn't given the OK by us, then we will just use the first strat we received. And the final thing, anything with an asterik (*) marked next to it on the form, is required for you to fill out if you expect a strat to be used. I ADVISE EVERYONE TO SEND IN YOUR STRAT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

"Sounds like a lot of work. Is it worth it?"

As stated above, for us it is. Besides, it's not as much work as you may think. Hey, you might like the process after you are done.

"Do strats count in determining winners in matches?"

No, though they could help your rank when the PCW Power Rankings are released.

"Hey! You're right! Strats are fun! Thanks."

No, thank you for putting in the time to write them. We appreciate it.
Strat Form Dictionary
*Name of Handler: Your real name, or name you prefer us to call you. This information is only collected by the staff or, if necassary, someone helping write results.

*Name of Character: Your character's name.

*Handler's Email: The email address you wish for us to contact you at.

Handler's Messaging Tools: If you have AOL Instant Messenger, Yahoo Instant Messenger, MSN Messenger, or any other program and want us to have your name. Send it here.

*Date of Match: When is the match you are sending in this strat for?

OOC Comments: Any quick notes you want to make? Something on your mind you want management to know? OOC stands for Out Of Character.

***Entrance: This is where you put your wrestler's entrance to the ring. Write it as you wish to see it on the card, so the writer of your match can easily copy and paste it directly word for word. If you wish to have an in-ring, that is an interview/monologue before your match, include it with your entrance here. Feel free to be as elaborate as you like here.

Mindset: This is just your basic mindset while you are in the ring. Method of attack, go for a weak spot, watch for his strengths, etc.

High Spots: If there are a few spots that you would definitely love to see in the match, send them here. Remember, the match-writer might not use it, so don't complain if your spots are ignored. Then again, if you feel the need to tell some spots, they will probably be good and get used, but don't go overboard and have 50 listed here.

Interference: Are there any people you will watch out for during this match? Will your manager attack if possible? Who will watch your back?

Post Match Reaction: Simply what your wrestler will do if he wins/loses/draws. Take into account the different circumstances, such as losing by DQ, winning by count-out, drawing due to time limit, etc. Is your wrestler going to celebrate and taunt if he wins? Is he just going to leave the ring peacefully? Another thing is to try to not have a post-match that requires the use of your opponent (unless it is to continually beat them or offer a handshake, etc) and if you wish to have an In-Ring interview here, you may. And again, like your entrance, make it so it is able to be copied and pasted directly into the card.

Interviews/Segments/Promos: Any in ring interview, or out of ring interview that you would like to have in which it is not before or after your match. This includes locker room interviews and such.
